Merry Christmas!!!

Well we just finished our first Christmas Eve as a family alone in OR. Calla had a blast opening presents and we have had a wonderful day as a family. We went on a walk this morning, went to church, had flank steak and roasted veggies for dinner (after Hannah went to bed) and opened presents. Here are a few wonderful pictures from our day.

Snow in Sunriver!

Family photo in the snow! We are so lucky to have lots and lots snow to play in for our visit to Sunriver with friends Nick, Brandi, Madison, and Jackson.
Calla really enjoyed sleding, throwing snow balls, and eating the snow.

The dads made a small hill for the girls to slide down. It was a BIG hit!

Calla trying to copy dad and run and jump into the snow.
Even the babies got to play in the snow.

Hannah turns 6 months!

It is hard to believe that my little girls is 6 months old. She has earned the name "Happy" Hannah because she loves to smile and laugh. Her big sister can really get her laughing. Hannah started at Day Care on December 1, and we are all adjusting, Mom is very tired having to work full-time for the first time in 6months and Hannah is having a hard time napping at day care, but we will all adjust. Hannah also got her first tooth today! I couple of nights ago she had some really bad tooth pain and then today when I was letting her chew on my finger I was surprised to actually feel the tooth, she is growing up fast. Some of the other things she is up to include:
- She is now rolling over both ways,
- She eats two meals a day of food, which could be squash, sweet potatoes, avocado, carrots, or applesauce and oatmeal cereal,
- She loves her toys, especially her caterpillar,
- She is sleeping better most nights, but still has nights when she wakes up 2-3 times.
Here are a few recent pictures.

The Tree is Up

Last weekend, well I should say over several days last week, we got our Christmas Tree put up. Calla helped us decorate (we only broke two ornaments in the process) and it looks beautiful. Now Calla tells me everyday that Santa is going to come to her house. She does not really know what that means, but kids learn very quicklu from other kids. Scott also got lights put up outside.

Bandon, Oregon

We took a family trip to Bandon, Oregon a few weeks ago in conjunction with some meeting Courtney had to attend. It was also to help us celebrate Courtney's birthday!! So a few of the mornings Courtney had to work while Hannah, Calla, and I played. We had some amazing weather, went on some amazing hikes, and stayed at an amazing house the was full to toys for Calla to play with. It even had a toddler bed for Calla to sleep in. Calla even managed to hike about 2 miles straight when daddy forgot to pack the Backpack she usually rides in off and on during our hikes!

Calla hiking and pickin' flowers.

One of the amazing views of the southern Oregon coast!

One of the benches that kept Calla hiking during our two mile hike. She likes to have goals to hike too. During this hike we had to keep hiking to find the next bench!

A tea set for Calla to play with at our rental house!

Hannah did not quit like her mini-chair! Calla did though!

Clear blue skies hiking in November on the Oregon coast.

On this hike we kept hiking to the next bridge so Calla could look for the fishes in the stream.

Halloween

Well it is not yet Thanksgiving and we finally are posting some pictures from Halloween, I guess that is life with two kids. We had a wonderful evening trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We went with our neighbors who have a little girl a few months older than Calla and a little boy a few months younger than Hannah. The girls were a little slow to get started and then they realized what fun it was. Here are a few pictures from our evening.

Hannah even got in the Halloween spirit dressing up as an AZ cheerleader!

Calla and Maddie showing off their princess dresses.
Calla read to try for some candy.
Trick-or-treating was successful! Luckily at this age they still don't realize what candy is and it was easy to give her just a couple of suckers from her basket and take the rest away. I know next year it will be a different story.
