Oregon coast
We celebrated my birthday by going to the Oregon coast for the weekend. We rented a great little cabin in Florence and hung out by the wood burning stove and played on the floor with Calla while it rained and when it was sunny, we went on some great hikes. This was Calla's first time in the backpack and she loved it. The cabin had a great hot tub also, so Courtney and I got to soak everynight after Calla went to bed!
Hiking with the family and Calla saw her first waterfall, which she really enjoyed.
Laughing at daddy playing peek-a-boo.
Her new favorite postion and she can pull herself up all by herself now! Calla is looking quite stylin' and comfy in her Patagonia long underwear!

Calla says "Go Cats"
Hi all. We celebrated the Arizona Wildcats victory today that takes them to the Sweet 16 with a victory swing. We tried out our neighbors swing on Saturday and she loved it. I think she is starting to show us her adventurous side. Calla and Aspen have been spending the last few weeks trying to figure out how to share the floor. Now that the little person can move where ever she wants, Aspen sometimes does not know what to do.

So much has happened, we do not know where to begin?
We have been so busy trying to keep up with Calla, we have had a hard time posting lately. So here is what she has been up to the last few weeks:
1. First tooth came in on the bottom!
2. Started crawling!
3. Taken swim classes with Mom and Dad and learned how to go underwater!
4. Can pull herself up to standing while holding onto something.
5. Went to Olympia to visit her friend Devin at his new house on a lake!
6. Weighed in at 18 pounds! That is 6 times her birth weight in under 11 months!!
Here are some pictures from her adventures and new activities. Calla also found out recently that she is going to have a cousin in September from her Uncle John and Aunt Charlotte! She is very excited to say the least.
She loves to pull herself around now and is just starting to use her knees.
What I am suppose to do now that I am up?
Look close at this one, you can see the little tooth sticking out!
Amazed at something?
Thinking about letters and numbers. These blocks are the first thing she crawls toward every morning and promptly pulls them all out to play with.
What can I spell with this one?
Calla's friend Devin making her laugh!
Look at me mama!

Calla's Big Adventure
Calla and I had a big adventure over the weekend. We flew to Des Moines, Iowa to visit Calla's great-grandpa. We flew out at 6:30 am on Friday and had a very long day. Our flight to Minneapolis, MN was uneventful. We had a short layover and then boarded our flight to Des Moines, a short 45 minutes. However, about 30 minutes into the flight we were told that the airport was closed due to a snow storm. After circling the airport for 30 minutes we were diverted to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We then were loaded onto a bus for a short 1 1/2 bus ride to the Des Moines airport. However, the bus ride turned into a 4 1/2 hour ride due to poor visibility and very bad road conditions. Everyone on the bus was very nice and Calla was amazing. She slept a lot during the day and was generally in a happy mood most of the time. She never ceases to amaze me. Calla and I were very happy to finally arrive at grandpa's house. Here are a few pictures of our visit.

Calla and great-grandpa all dressed up.
Three generations of Culpeppers.
Great-grandpa and Calla enjoying some time on the floor. Calla gave her great-grandpa lots and lots of smiles and laughs. She loved shaking her head "no" at him after he smiled at her.

Grandpa Rex and Grandma Cindy's Visit
We just had a great visit with the Grandparents from Ohio. They got to spend a lot if time hanging out with Calla and we all had a good time. Here are some pics from their visit and a few other shots of Calla being silly. We start baby swim class tomorrow which should be a lot of fun! We hope to get some good underwater photos from the class.
