We just had a great week long family vacation in the NE corner of Oregon, just to the north of the Eagle Cap Wilderness area. An area Courtney and I have backpacked BC (Before Calla). But now we were able to introduce Calla to the area, needless to say she loved it! We went on several hikes, saw Kokanee salmon spawning, played in the lake, threw pine cones into the stream and watched them float away, saw a lot of deer, saw eagles, ate some ice cream, visitied the local brewery (Terminal Gravity), spent a couple of days with our friends from Idaho Steven and Kathy with their two sons (Carson and Tate). What a busy week and lots of fun for an adventerous toddler.

Wine Tasting at Lumos Winery

Scott, Calla, Joy, Jay and I headed to Lumos Winery for tasting this afternoon. It was cloudy and windy, but the sun came out at the end and it was a beautiful Fall afternoon. Calla loved the flowers and exploring the tasting room. She is such a little adventurer, she keeps us on our toes. We LOVE IT!!!

Fun Days of Summer

Well as always the Shaff family and especially Calla have been busy enjoying summer in Oregon. Two weekends ago we went camping with two other family with little girls the same age as Calla. We all had a blast, but it was a little chilly outside the tent at 6am when all the girls were up. Last weekend we hiked to Lake Pamelia, but forgot the camera. Calla had a blast playing in the water and we all enjoyed the hike and sunshine. This weekend I canned peaches with a neighbor and then made a peach and raspberry cobler, YUM!!! Today Calla and I went to Detering orchards (www.deteringorchards.com). She had a blast exploring. Enjoy the pictures.

Uncle Steve Visits

Calla has been busy growing and enjoying a visit from her uncle Steve. We had a great time despite the weather. Steve had the luck of visiting during Corvallis' hottest days in history. We had 3 days in a row of temperatures over 100, with no AC. It was crazy, but we all survived. Calla has 5 teeth now and two more on the way. She walks everywhere and has an eight word vocabulary. 1) Dada 2) Didi 3) Mama 4) Kity 5) woof 6) meow 7) Tree 8) hi. We love every minute of everyday and she never stops amazing us.
